Initial reports indicated intensifying discussions, with US special envoys expected to meet with European representatives to discuss de-escalation. However, the situation has since shifted toward increased geopolitical tension. Russian officials and propagandists have framed the conflict as an interim phase, with rhetoric suggesting Russian interests may extend to the Baltics and Asia. While discussions regarding a US-Russia diesel fuel agreement have been noted, the Kremlin has maintained it is not ready for peace negotiations.
