Developments: 2. Satellite imagery and OSINT analysis indicate that Russia is replenishing its military reserves, specifically stocks of armored vehicles, tanks, and artillery systems that were depleted during the invasion of Ukraine. Significant equipment movements have been identified at several storage bases. The 22nd Central Reserve Base in Buy, Kostroma Oblast, located approximately 500 km from the borders of Estonia and Latvia, has received T-90M tanks, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, and BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles. In Karelia, near the Finnish border, an increase in artillery systems such as Malwa wheeled systems and Hyacinth-K self-propelled howitzers has been observed. Additionally, the 349th Central Storage Base in Altai has reportedly received T-72B3 tanks and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles. Analysts suggest these activities may be part of an effort to restore a Soviet-style mobilization system to allow for the rapid development of new military units. However, observers note a distinction between the accumulation of hardware in storage facilities and immediate combat readiness, stating that the presence of equipment does not confirm it has been assigned to active frontline units for deployment. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-23: Russia replenishes armored vehicle reserves near NATO borders Satellite imagery shows Russia replenishing armored vehicle and artillery reserves in storage bases near the borders of Finland, the Baltic states, and NATO territory. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/russia-replenishes-armored-vehicle-reserves-near-nato-borders ### 2026-10-18: Russia replenishes military equipment in storage bases OSINT analysts report Russia is replenishing military reserves, including T-90M tanks and BMP-3 vehicles, in storage bases near NATO borders and within its interior. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/russia-replenishes-military-equipment-stockpiles-near-nato-borders --- Cite as: Russian military equipment replenishment.
