Răzvan Lucescu, the head coach of Al Sadd, expressed his refusal to coach any Saudi Pro League team other than Al Hilal, citing a deep emotional connection to the club. He stated, “It is impossible for me to work in Saudi Arabia at another team, apart from Al-Hilal,” despite potential financial offers from other major Saudi clubs.

Following these remarks, Lucescu focused on Al Sadd’s campaign in the AFC Champions League Elite. He called for his players to fight for a victory in an upcoming match against Al Ahli, asserting that winning is necessary to remain competitive in the tournament. He noted that while match congestion and luck have affected recent results, the team’s chances of qualifying for the next stage remain intact.
