A new 10.2-kilometer section of the S19 expressway has opened in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, connecting Krynice, Dobrzyniewo, and the Białystok Zachód junction. As part of the international Via Carpatia transport corridor, this segment links the S19 with the S8 expressway to serve as a northwestern bypass for Białystok.

The project was completed by the PORR and Unibep consortium at a cost of 405.6 million PLN. The infrastructure includes two lanes in each direction, four bridges over the Supraśl and Biała rivers, 12 animal crossings, and eight viaducts. The development is intended to improve regional communication, increase road safety, and reduce transit traffic through local towns.

Future development of the S19 around Białystok is ongoing, with additional sections expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2029. These upcoming segments aim to allow transit from the Belarusian border toward Warsaw and Western Europe to bypass the regional capital entirely.
