The Sada Cruzeiro men’s volleyball team began the 2026/27 season with the return of key players Miguel Armoa and Matheus Brasília following their national team commitments. Armoa, an outside hitter who previously played in Poland and the United Arab Emirates, joined for his first season, while Brasília entered his third consecutive year with the club. During the 2026 Campeonato Mineiro, the club secured the bronze medal after a 3-0 victory against Azulim Monte Carmelo. This result ended a 16-year streak of consecutive state titles for the club, which had been interrupted by a semifinal loss to Praia Clube. Coach Filipe Ferraz noted that while the team is finding its rhythm, work remains on fundamentals such as serving. The tournament also served as a farewell for player Wilian, who is transferring to Saudi Arabia. Following the state tournament, Sada Cruzeiro won the 2026 Men's Volleyball Super Cup, marking their eighth title in the competition and their third consecutive win. In a tie-break thriller against Vôlei Renata, the team overcame a deficit in the final set to win 17-15. Leal was named the best player of the match with 29 points, supported by 27 points from Oppenkoski. Sada Cruzeiro then opened the 2026/27 Men's Superliga season with a 3-2 victory over Montes Claros at the Tancredo Neves Gymnasium. After losing the first and third sets, the team rallied to win the second and fourth sets, eventually securing the tie-break with a 15-13 score.
