The city of Patras, Greece, held religious commemorations to mark the 62nd anniversary of the repatriation of the Holy Relics of Saint Andrew from Rome. The historical event being honored occurred in September 1964, following a request by Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras to Pope Paul VI, which brought the relics back to Greece after more than 500 years in the West.

The anniversary celebrations included a multi-hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the New Holy Temple of Saint Andrew and a sacred procession. This procession involved a maritime transfer toward the pier of Saint Nicholas and a doxology at Three Allies Square. The ceremonies were attended by various Greek metropolitans and notable guests, such as Archbishop Cyprianos of Buzău and Vrancea from the Romanian Patriarchate.

In late September 2026, large-scale celebrations in Patras continued to mark this anniversary. The festivities featured a grand procession involving both land and sea, utilizing a fishing vessel to transport the relics to the harbor. The event was attended by thousands of faithful and high-ranking clergy.
