Salernitana has officially dismissed head coach Serse Cosmi following a 3-0 defeat against Picerno in a Serie C Group C match. The loss, featuring goals from Gemignani, Rillo, and Pugliese, concluded a period of declining form and intense friction between the technical staff and supporters.

Following the match, sporting director Daniele Faggiano expressed deep shame, characterizing the performance as an “indecorous test” that offends the club’s history. The dismissal follows a period where the club had previously reaffirmed its confidence in Cosmi despite mounting pressure from supporters.

Club president Danilo Iervolino is overseeing the search for a successor to stabilize the team’s position in the standings. Potential candidates under evaluation include Mimmo Toscano, Fabio Prosperi, and Eziolino Capuano.
