Salomón Rondón, playing for C. F. Pachuca, has maintained a leading position in the Liga MX Apertura 2026 scoring race. In late September, the 36-year-old striker recorded over ten goals in his first 10 matches, including a milestone of 50 official goals for the club. His performance included braces against Pumas UNAM, Puebla, and Tijuana, and he accounted for more than 60% of his team's total goals in the competition.

By late October, the 37-year-old reached 13 goals in 12 matches, maintaining a five-goal lead over his nearest competitor, Juninho of Pumas UNAM. As the season approaches its conclusion, Rondón is positioned to potentially secure his second Liga MX scoring title and equal the record of 44 goals for Venezuelan players in the Mexican top flight, having already accumulated 43 goals in the Mexican first division during his tenure with Pachuca.
