The Saltillo Commissioner of Security and Citizen Protection has launched the second edition of the ‘Calle por Cancha’ (Street for Court) soccer tournament. The initiative aims to reduce tensions, foster coexistence, and build trust between local gangs and the police through sports.

Alexis Morales Hernández, Director of Social Proximity and Crime Prevention, reported that 40 gangs from the east, west, and south of the city are registered to participate. The tournament commenced in the Gustavo Espinoza Mireles neighborhood.

The program is part of a broader security policy led by Mayor Javier Díaz González and Commissioner Miguel Ángel Garza Félix to maintain links with youth across various sectors.
