Sam Walker, a premiership-winning halfback for the Sydney Roosters, has been engaged in negotiations to secure a contract extension before entering free agency in November. Initial reports indicated a $1 million gap between Walker’s asking price and the club’s previous four-year offer.

By late October, negotiations progressed with Walker scheduled to meet with management to discuss a potential three-year deal worth approximately $1.4 million per season. Such an agreement would secure his position with the club until at least the end of 2030. During this period, Walker also made his international debut for Australia in a victory against Fiji.
