Samsung Electronics is expanding its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) manufacturing and support capabilities through its subsidiary, FläktGroup, focusing on AI data center infrastructure and energy management.

In August 2026, the company completed a 13,826-square-meter facility in Pune, India, to produce air handling and fan wall units for the Asia-Pacific market. Concurrently, Samsung announced a 240 billion won investment to establish a 21,800-square-meter production line at its Gwangju plant in South Korea. This facility, the largest investment at the Gwangju site in 37 years, will serve as a global hub for products like Coolant Distribution Units (CDU) for liquid cooling in AI data centers, alongside fan wall units and air handlers.

To support its Electric Heat Pump System (EHS) solutions, Samsung has established a dedicated training center at its CS Academy in Suwon, South Korea. The center allows B2B partners and engineers to practice installation and AI-based smart diagnostics using the Home Appliances Smart Service (HASS) program. This training initiative supports South Korean government goals for high-efficiency heat pump distribution.

Additionally, the Gwangju plant has established a 2,132-square-meter production line for EHS heat pump boilers. Trial production began on August 19, 2026, with full-scale mass production scheduled for late September 2026. Samsung aims to integrate FläktGroup’s technology with its ‘SmartThings Pro’ platform to target leadership in the global smart building and energy management markets by 2030.
