Samsunspor leadership has issued multiple calls for supporter engagement ahead of a Süper Lig match against Trabzonspor.

Head coach Thorsten Fink characterized the upcoming fixture as potentially “one of the most important matches of the year,” describing it as a battle between two cities. To strengthen the connection with the community, Vice President Veysel Bilen announced that one training session per month would be opened to fans. In subsequent communications, Bilen urged supporters to return to the stands at 19 Mayıs Stadium, acknowledging potential frustration with club management but pleading with fans “not to lose faith in the team itself.”

In the Black Sea derby, Samsunspor suffered a 3-0 defeat against Trabzonspor. Trabzonspor secured the victory with first-half goals from Ernest Muçi, Chibuike Nwaiwu, and Franculino Dju. Despite Trabzonspor receiving a red card in the 43rd minute when Melih Kabasakal was sent off, the team maintained their lead to claim the three points. This victory marked Trabzonspor’s first away win in 153 days and brought their total to 13 points.
