Sources: 47. Developments: 6. The San Francisco 49ers extended their undefeated streak to 4-0 following a 24-14 victory over the Denver Broncos at Levi’s Stadium. Quarterback Brock Purdy led the offense with two touchdown passes, including a 56-yard score to George Kittle, and finished with a 107.4 passer rating. Christian McCaffrey contributed a 1-yard rushing touchdown. A pivotal third-quarter turnover, involving a fumbled punt return by Denver’s Marvin Mims Jr. recovered by San Francisco’s Siran Neal, allowed the 49ers to secure the lead. The game was marked by sideline tension when 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw confronted Broncos head coach Sean Payton, telling him to “get the f— off my field.” Teammate Fred Warner intervened to de-escalate the situation. While Payton expressed respect for Greenlaw due to their history in Denver, the exchange remained a notable moment of friction. Injury concerns persist for both teams. For the 49ers, fullback Kyle Juszczyk suffered a right knee hyperextension; head coach Kyle Shanahan noted the injury appeared to be a knee sprain and that Juszczyk’s ACL “appeared to be intact,” though the team is awaiting MRI results. Additionally, wide receiver Mike Evans played through a fractured rib. The Broncos, now 2-2, also faced health issues with injuries to cornerbacks Pat Surtain II and Riley Moss, and receiver Pat Bryant. Questions were raised regarding quarterback Bo Nix’s surgically repaired ankle, though Nix stated he feels “as healthy as ever” and denied any impact on his performance. On the coaching side, Kyle Shanahan reached a franchise milestone by coaching his 167th game, surpassing Bill Walsh for the most games coached in team history. Brock Purdy was also named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-05: San Francisco 49ers defeat Denver Broncos to remain undefeated The San Francisco 49ers remain undefeated after defeating the Denver Broncos, a game marked by a heated postgame verbal confrontation between linebacker Dre Greenlaw and coach Sean Payton. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/san-francisco-49ers-defeat-denver-broncos-to-remain-undefeated ### 2026-10-04: San Francisco 49ers face injury concerns with Kyle Juszczyk and Mike Evans San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk is awaiting MRI results after a knee injury against the Broncos, while receiver Mike Evans continues to play through a fractured rib. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/san-francisco-49ers-face-injury-concerns-with-kyle-juszczyk-and-mike-evans ### 2026-10-03: San Francisco 49ers defeat Denver Broncos 24-14 to remain undefeated The undefeated San Francisco 49ers defeated the Denver Broncos 24-14, led by Brock Purdy's two touchdown passes and George Kittle's 56-yard scoring play to move to 4-0 on the season. 32 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/brock-purdy-jevn-holland-and-myles-price-named-nfc-players-of-the-month ### 2026-09-30: San Francisco 49ers face Denver Broncos amid injury concerns The undefeated San Francisco 49ers face the Denver Broncos in Week 4, dealing with a rib injury to Mike Evans and several other key players listed as questionable. 15 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/san-francisco-49ers-face-wide-receiver-shortage-amid-injuries ### 2026-09-29: Brock Purdy leads 49ers to 3-0 start amid MVP discussions Led by Brock Purdy’s MVP-caliber start, the San Francisco 49ers are 3-0 and preparing to face the Denver Broncos defense. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/san-francisco-49ers-face-injury-concerns-and-nfl-schedule-changes ### 2026-09-27: San Francisco 49ers face injury setbacks as Mike Evans suffers rib injury San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans is day-to-day with a rib injury after being carted off during the Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
