Prosecutors in San Juan have initiated a procedural step in an investigation into alleged irregularities regarding the construction of the Acueducto Gran Tulum project. The UFI of Special Crimes has notified eleven former officials and business representatives of the investigation, including former governor and current national senator Sergio Uñac, former officials from Obras Sanitarias Sociedad del Estado (OSSE), and the president of Krah América Latina S.A.

The probe, which follows complaints and journalistic reports, was launched in December of the previous year. Judicial authorization has recently been granted to extend the preliminary investigation phase.
