Religious celebrations honoring San Judas Tadeo, the patron saint of difficult causes, have taken place across Mexico and Guatemala.

In anticipation of the October 28 feast day, large gatherings were reported in Mexico, including an estimated 20,000 people in Ciudad Juárez and significant crowds in Querétaro. Authorities implemented security, traffic, and civil protection protocols to manage these large-scale events. In Guatemala, pilgrims converged on Guatemala City to visit the saint’s relics.

On the feast day, devotees continued to gather in various Mexican regions. In Coahuila, approximately 5,000 people visited a chapel in Ejido 8 de Enero to fulfill vows or seek intercession for hardships. In Puebla, worshippers gathered at the Guadalupe Hidalgo parish to offer thanks for health and personal recoveries through food, flowers, and testimonies of faith.

In Mexico City, thousands of devotees gathered at the Temple of San Hipólito and San Casiano. The influx, which included many young people carrying candles and flowers, began on the night of October 27 and continued through October 28. The heavy congestion led to safety concerns, including reports of injuries, elderly individuals falling, and minors becoming lost in the crowds. In response to the overcrowding, local security forces, Civil Protection personnel, and church authorities coordinated to close temple access during the night to prevent further incidents.
