In October 2026, San Marino’s national sports teams participated in various international tournaments.

The NAT San Marino football team traveled to Ptuj, Slovenia, to compete in Group 2 of the UEFA Regions’ Cup 2026-27 Intermediate Round. Led by head coach Luigi Bizzotto, the amateur squad aimed to build on their 2024 success. Following a debut performance against Ptuj, the team remains in contention to reach the tournament's final phase. Bizzotto expressed a desire for a “more proactive style of play” in upcoming matches. The team’s progression depends on results involving other regional representatives, such as Anenii Noi and Vojvodina, as only the group winner advances.

Simultaneously, the San Marino national futsal team traveled to Poreč, Croatia, for the Futsal Week October Cup, held from October 14 to 18, 2026. Under head coach Roberto Osimani, the team was placed in Group B. Their tournament schedule included a debut on October 15 against Morocco Under 21, followed by a match against Greenland on October 16, and a final group stage match on October 18. The team’s subsequent opponent would be determined by their final standing in Group B, facing a finisher from Group A, which included France Under 23, China, and Switzerland.
