Brazilian singers Sandy and Wanessa Camargo have addressed the long-standing public narrative regarding a perceived rivalry between them.

During an appearance on the program ‘Saia Justa’, Sandy clarified that the competition was a “media creation” and did not exist in reality. She noted that despite media portrayals in the 2000s that depicted the two artists as opposites, they actually maintained a good relationship and shared similar backgrounds.

Wanessa Camargo subsequently responded, admitting she played a role in fueling the narrative. She explained that being constantly compared to Sandy led to exhaustion, which influenced her to make statements that “inadvertently strengthened the perception of a feud.” Both artists acknowledged that, as young women, they eventually fell into the trap of believing the public’s misconceptions about one another.
