Rai has announced the musical commission for the 2026 Sanremo Giovani and Area Sanremo selection processes. A seven-member panel is tasked with evaluating artistic proposals to identify emerging talents for the festival.

Live auditions are scheduled for late October in Milan for 60 artists who pass the initial phase. From these, 15 artists will be selected from Sanremo Giovani and 15 from Area Sanremo, totaling 30 talents. The process will continue with live auditions in Sanremo during two weekends in November, ultimately resulting in six finalists. To encourage participation, the deadline for applications has been extended to Monday, October 12, at 18:00.
