The administration of Sanremo has moved forward with urban redevelopment and strategic planning initiatives aimed at revitalizing municipal areas.

Initially, the city focused on the Pian di Poma area, planning a redevelopment project to support a new sports complex. This phase involves using public funds to regenerate abandoned land, revitalize green spaces, and create new parking facilities to manage traffic and accessibility.

Following this, the municipality expanded its planning efforts by launching a three-year collaboration with the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies at Politecnico di Milano. This partnership establishes an urban design laboratory where architecture students and professors will develop long-term visions for seven strategic locations, including Piazza Colombo, the old station, and decommissioned greenhouses.
