Recent athletic updates from the Santa Barbara region highlight various successes and setbacks in collegiate and high school sports.

In late September, Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) women’s water polo achieved a 13-2 record at the Mt. SAC Invite, including a victory over No. 1 Long Beach. In women’s soccer, UC Santa Barbara defeated Sacramento State 3-2. Local high school athletes Paolo Borgioli and Elina Stump were also recognized as Athletes of the Week.

By early October, competition continued at the UC Santa Barbara Invitational, where Santa Clara University’s men’s tennis team secured multiple victories. However, the UC Santa Barbara men’s water polo team lost their Big West season opener to California Baptist with a score of 14-12.
