The ‘Activá Tu Huerta’ gardening program has been introduced in the Santa Cruz province of Argentina to promote family food production and sustainable local cultivation.

Initially launched in Caleta Olivia through a collaboration between the Municipality and the Provincial Agrarian Council (CAP), the program provides residents with technical training and kits containing 16 varieties of vegetables. The initiative has since expanded its scope in Río Turbio, with the CAP planning to distribute 10,000 seed kits across the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 seasons to support long-term self-consumption and technical follow-up.
