In Santa Fe, political maneuvering has commenced in anticipation of the 2027 elections, specifically targeting the primary elections in April and the general elections in June. 

Within the Peronist movement, several figures are positioning themselves for potential roles. National deputies Germán Martínez of the Unión por la Patria caucus and Diego Giuliano of the Frente Renovador have signaled gubernatorial intentions. Other potential contenders include María de los Angeles Sacnún, as well as mayors Roly Santacroce of Funes and Pablo Corsini of Pérez. 

Immediate political focus is also directed toward the renewal of provincial deputies, ten seats for national deputies, and three senatorial seats in the National Congress. 

Governor Maximiliano Pullaro has formally announced the 2027 electoral calendar, confirming that provincial elections will be decoupled from national elections. This decision aims to protect local political debates from being overshadowed by national issues and to mitigate the ‘drag effect’ of national ballots. 

The schedule establishes February 7, 2027, as the deadline for alliance registration and February 12 as the deadline for candidate list submissions. Primary elections (PASO) are set for April 18, with general elections on June 13. Voters will elect a governor, vice-governor, departmental senators, provincial deputies, mayors, and councilors. In Rosario, voters will also elect convention members to draft the city’s first Organic Charter under its new autonomous status.

The announcement has drawn criticism from political sectors. Diego Giuliano of the Frente Renovador criticized the decision, claiming the calendar was created without consultation and accusing the administration of frequently “changing the rules of the game.” Conversely, Senator Marcelo Lewandowski noted that the dates are similar to previous electoral processes.
