In Santa Monica, authorities arrested 72-year-old Michael Greenwald, a registered sex offender, following an incident of alleged indecent exposure at a women’s clothing store on August 29, 2026. Investigators report that Greenwald entered the establishment claiming to be filming a television show that required him to try on women’s clothing, during which time he allegedly exposed his genitals and buttocks to a female employee.

Following an investigation involving vehicle footage and a search of his residence, Greenwald was arrested on September 4. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has filed one felony count of indecent exposure against him. The Santa Monica Police Department is currently seeking additional victims who may have experienced similar conduct.
