Early in the Serie A season, Sassuolo manager Alberto Aquilani established a core group of consistent starters despite various lineup changes caused by injuries and tactical shifts. Players Arijanet Muric, Simone Cinquegrano, and Armand Laurienté were noted for playing every minute of the first five matches.

Following a period of inconsistent results, including a 4-2 loss to Frosinone, the focus shifted to goalkeeper Arijanet Muric’s recent form. Aquilani addressed Muric’s recent errors in a press conference, expressing respect for the Kosovan international’s talent while acknowledging the impact of these mistakes on the squad. The manager indicated that a decision would be made regarding whether Muric would start or begin the next match against Como on the bench.
