Sassuolo is undergoing organizational restructuring and transfer market activity following the departure of Giovanni Carnevali. Under CEO Veronica Squinzi, the club has appointed Alberto Aquilani as manager as part of a project to return to Serie A. Recent player movements include a contract extension for goalkeeper Stefano Turati until 2031, the signing of Patrick Budescu, and the addition of Annika Paz to the women’s team.

Sporting director Francesco Palmieri has further detailed the club’s strategy, which focuses on integrating young Italian talent into the first team. Palmieri emphasized the need for alignment between ownership and coaching staff to allow youth players room to develop. Current squad management includes ongoing contract renewal efforts for Thorstvedt, while maintaining the importance of club figures such as Berardi.

In recent updates, Palmieri discussed the transfer of Sebastiano Esposito, noting that the club capitalized on negotiations with Cagliari. He stated that Esposito arrived “happy” and has demonstrated talent through involvement with the Italian national team. Palmieri also highlighted a “great feeling” between the management and coach Alberto Aquilani. While the club’s primary objective remains Serie A survival, the strategy involves playing an aggressive, proactive style of football and supporting emerging talents like Simone Cinquegrano.
