Speaking on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, Thiessen noted that the cast had minimal influence over production and that her personal financial situation only improved significantly after joining ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ in 1994. Thiessen further highlighted that residuals from the series have become negligible, suggesting they are effectively ‘negative’ because the cost of printing a residual check can sometimes exceed the value of the check itself. She expressed frustration that the cast receives little financial return despite the show’s cultural impact and merchandise use, stating, “We made nothing and we just did our job.” Co-star Mario Lopez, who previously described the original salaries as ‘cartoon money’, has offered support for Thiessen’s comments. Other cast members have also reported similar issues regarding inadequate syndication deals and minimal residual payments. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-01: Tiffani Thiessen reports ‘Saved by the Bell’ residuals have become negligible Tiffani Thiessen revealed that her residuals from ‘Saved by the Bell’ have become negligible, sparking discussions about actor compensation and the declining value of television residuals. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/tiffani-thiessen-reports-saved-by-the-bell-residuals-have-become-negligible ### 2026-09-27: Tiffani Thiessen discusses low pay on ‘Saved by the Bell’ Tiffani Thiessen revealed that her pay on ‘Saved by the Bell’ was minimal and that residuals for the series have since dried up, noting her finances only stabilized after joining ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/tiffani-thiessen-discusses-low-pay-on-saved-by-the-bell --- Cite as: Saved by the Bell cast compensation controversy.
