Brazilian broadcaster SBT has implemented new programming strategies for its afternoon block. In late September, the network premiered the remake of the telenovela ‘Marisol’, which is scheduled to run for 130 chapters until March. This production was paired with reruns of ‘A Desalmada’ in an effort to stabilize the network’s third-place position in afternoon ratings.

By late October, SBT announced the premiere of the Mexican telenovela ‘Marimar’, starring Thalia, to be broadcast on October 26 at 14:15. As part of the ‘Trilogia das Marias’, the plot follows a humble woman who seeks revenge against those who persecuted her after transforming into the wealthy Bela Aldama. ‘Marimar’ is set to replace ‘Desalmada’ in the network’s schedule, though the two productions will share the time slot for a few days during the initial transition period.
