While the captain initially maneuvered the ship back to its berth without reported injuries or pollution, port authorities prohibited the involved vessels from departing. Subsequent developments revealed that on the evening of September 30, 2026, the Scarlet Lady drifted from its berth after mooring lines snapped in heavy seas, leading to a collision with the King of Rhodes. The owner of the catamaran sought the precautionary seizure of the Scarlet Lady, requesting at least 400,000 euros in damages for broken mooring lines, a damaged boarding ladder, and potential structural or propulsion system damage.
