Schaeffler has established a new 7,500-square-meter “Lighthouse Factory” in Taicang, China, to facilitate the mass production of essential humanoid robot components. The facility utilizes a “closed loop” manufacturing cycle where humanoid robots are employed to assemble, sort, test, label, and package components such as linear and rotary actuators for other robotic systems.

Beyond component production, the site functions as a training and data collection center. This expansion is supported by a reported global order volume of approximately 400 million euros in the humanoid robotics sector, driven in part by new customers in China.
