On 4 August 2026, San Juan province in Argentina unveiled an integrated prevention programme aimed at grooming and other forms of cybercrime. The initiative, coordinated by the provincial Ministry of Public Prosecutor and the Ministry of Education, provides training for students, teachers and families and includes a partnership with the University Austral’s Observatory of Cybercrime and Digital Evidence (OCEDIC) and TikTok to deliver workshops, technical training for the judiciary and educational materials.

Two days later, Panama’s National Police announced the launch of the GREAT (Education and Training in Resistance to Gangs) programme in more than 220 schools, teaching conflict‑resolution skills and seeking to deter gang recruitment through the Impact operation that targets recruiters near schools. The same report also highlighted that San Juan continued its OCEDIC‑led workshops for secondary‑school students on digital‑risk prevention, covering grooming, cyber‑bullying and safe online practices, underscoring a regional push for school‑based interventions against online abuse and gang influence.
