Czech universities and institutions have been hosting various science and technology festivals to promote STEM education and vocational skills.

In late August, the VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava announced its 11th Art & Science Festival, featuring exhibits on quantum computers, autonomous vehicles, and renewable energy. Concurrently, the Brno University of Technology participated in a festival in Brno showcasing aerospace technology and the KOSTKA satellite, a project designed and built by students.

By early September, the Brno Exhibition Centre hosted a large-scale Science and Technology Festival with 107 exhibitors, including research institutions and private companies. This event featured flight simulators and chemical experiments. Alongside the science festival, the ‘Future Builders’ exhibition was held to engage children and parents with the construction industry, utilizing technologies such as bricklaying robots, 3D printing, and virtual reality to address skilled worker shortages.

On September 11, the University of West Bohemia (ZČU) scheduled its ‘Day with ZČU’ event at Republic Square in Plzeň. Designed as an “open-air laboratory,” the event features approximately forty interactive exhibits from various faculties. Demonstrations include robot battles, electric formula racing cars, laser and plasma technologies, and e-textiles. The program also covers renewable energy, physics and chemistry experiments, and diverse fields such as archaeology, law, and emergency medicine.
