Bandai Namco Filmworks announced that animation studio Science SARU will produce a new project based on Masamune Shirow’s cyberpunk manga, ‘Ghost in the Shell’. The announcement was initially made via a surprise flyer during a press preview in Tokyo.

While specific details regarding the plot, format, and release date remain undisclosed, subsequent reports identified key production staff. The team includes director Moko-chan, series composition and scriptwriter To Enjo, and character designer/animation director Shuhei Handa. The musical score is set to be a collaboration between Taisei Iwasaki, Ryo Konishi, and Yuki Kanesaka. This project marks Science SARU’s second involvement with the franchise following a television series released earlier in the summer.
