Updates regarding the casting for the ‘Scrubs’ revival indicate uncertainty surrounding the return of Ken Jenkins as Dr. Kelso. While creator Bill Lawrence had previously suggested the character would return, Zach Braff noted that production must be “respectful of his age,” describing a return for the 86-year-old actor as a “big ask.”

Recent cast lists released by ABC do not include Jenkins. Despite this, several original cast members are confirmed for the upcoming season, including Judy Reyes as Carla Espinosa, John C. McGinley as Dr. Cox, and Neil Flynn as The Janitor. The production is currently focused on reestablishing the hospital setting and introducing new interns.

Further reports reinforce the casting uncertainty, noting that Jenkins may not return to the role due to his age and retirement.
