SCS Software has announced several developments for Euro Truck Simulator 2. The upcoming 1.62 update will expand the Improved Material System to the Iveco S-Way and Volvo VNL to enhance interior visual detail, alongside a complete overhaul of truck garages across the base map and all published expansions to provide a more modern experience.

Additionally, the developer is working on a Coaches DLC that will introduce long-distance buses featuring mechanics such as a centrifugal force system for passenger reactions.

Regarding map expansions, the Iceland DLC is scheduled for release on November 10, 2026. This expansion will include 14 cities and settlements, such as Reykjavík and Akureyri, allowing players to traverse the 1,400 km Ring Road through environments including fjords, volcanic fields, and waterfalls. Future content plans include DLCs for Ireland and Turkey, as well as map reworks for parts of the United Kingdom.
