The evacuation of the Seagate apartment building in the Germasogeia tourist area remains pending. The Limassol Building Inspection Organization (EOA Lemosou) is preparing a report for the Minister of Interior to determine if the building’s designation as dangerous is justified. 

This decision follows a building collapse on April 11. The process has been complicated by a hierarchical appeal from the owner and legal hurdles, including the death of a property owner. Giannis Tsouloftas, President of the Organization, described current legal tools as “ineffective and time-consuming” and called for the advancement of pending legislation regarding dangerous buildings.
