Search and rescue operations are underway in the Amasra district of Bartın, Turkey, for İlker Mızrap, a 43-year-old miner who went missing after his boat appeared to sink rapidly near Tavşan Island on October 6. Before losing contact, Mızrap sent a final message to his wife stating, “I caught the fish, I am coming.”

Initial search efforts involved the Coast Guard, AFAD, gendarmerie, and police, utilizing helicopters, drones, and underwater imaging systems. The search area initially spanned a wide stretch from Zonguldak to Kastamonu due to wind and currents.

By October 13, search operations intensified and were redirected toward Değirmenağzı Bay, located approximately four miles from Tavşan Island, following a tip regarding a dream experienced by a colleague of the missing man. The operation continues to utilize boats, drones, divers, and underwater imaging systems.
