The hiking season in the Allgäu Alps is transitioning toward winter, leading to the seasonal closure of various mountain huts across Germany and Austria.

In early October, several German Alpine Club (DAV) facilities, including the Mindelheimer Hütte, Rappenseehütte, and Waltenberger-Haus, are scheduled to close by October 3. Other locations, such as the Schwarzenberghütte, remain operational until November 1, while the Austrian Bad Kissinger Hütte is expected to stay open until November 7.

In the Oberallgäu region, some huts like the Enzianhütte, Sennalpe Derb, and Alpe Schattwald remain open through mid-October. Other facilities, including the Klammwirt, Siedelalpe, and Alpe Kammeregg, are scheduled to remain open until early or mid-November. For those seeking year-round options, the Staufner Haus at 1,634 meters remains open for overnight stays even during the winter months.
