In mid-October, two separate events were reported at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. One flight arriving from Ahmedabad triggered a security alert after a student claimed a bomb was on board, leading to an isolation bay inspection by bomb disposal units. A second flight from Delhi to Chennai was diverted to Hyderabad after a passenger’s power bank caught fire. By late October, a bomb threat was discovered on an IndiGo flight arriving from Phuket at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. The threat, written on a washroom mirror, prompted an evacuation and a thorough search by the Central Industrial Security Force and bomb squads. No suspicious objects were found. This followed a previous bomb scare at the same airport involving a handwritten note found in a restroom. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-24: Kolkata Airport security alert following bomb threat on IndiGo flight A bomb threat written on a Phuket-Kolkata IndiGo flight mirror triggered a security sweep at Kolkata airport, marking the second consecutive day of scares at the facility. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kolkata-airport-security-alert-following-bomb-threat-on-indigo-flight ### 2026-10-17: IndiGo flights face separate security incidents in India Two IndiGo flights required emergency interventions in India: one involving a bomb threat from a student on an Ahmedabad-Hyderabad flight, and another involving a power bank fire on a Delhi-Chennai flight. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/indigo-flights-face-separate-security-incidents-in-india --- Cite as: Security incidents involving IndiGo flights in India.
