Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has highlighted recent security successes in the region. Initially, the Governor commended security agencies, including the Department of State Services, for operations that resulted in the rescue of a kidnapping victim and the arrest of suspects in Lafia and the Jenkwe Development Area.

Following these developments, Governor Sule announced that a joint operation involving the Police, Military, Air Force, and Navy successfully dislodged Boko Haram leaders from the state. The Governor noted that a group known as Darusalam, which had settled in the Toto Local Government Area after moving from Niger State in 2016, had established ties with Boko Haram. According to the Governor, most of these leaders have since left Nasarawa to return to other parts of the country.
