In the Pataz province of the La Libertad region, Peruvian security forces have conducted multiple operations to combat criminal organizations. 

Under ‘Operation Nemesis,’ the Unified Pataz Command intervened in the towns of Yalén and Pueblo Nuevo, seizing 1,961 rounds of war ammunition, 50 explosives, various firearms including Galil and CZ Scorpion types, and tactical gear. This followed ‘Operation Sol Naciente’ in Yalén, which resulted in two arrests and the confiscation of three CZ Scorpion rifles, an R-15, a shotgun, four pistols, and 52 explosives. The Ministry of Defense has stated that the Armed Forces and National Police maintain a permanent deployment in the area to reinforce local security.
