A magnitude 4.7 earthquake occurred off the eastern coast of Aomori on September 6 at a depth of approximately 30 km. This event produced seismic intensity 2 in locations such as Hachinohe, Taira, and Nobeyoshi, with tremors felt in Iwate, Hokkaido, Miyagi, and Akita. No tsunami threat was identified.

One week later, on September 13, a magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck the Tsugaru Strait at a depth of about 120 km. This event resulted in higher seismic intensity 3 readings in Hakodate City, Hokkaido, as well as Nobeyama Town and Higashidori Village in Aomori. Intensity 2 tremors were also felt in parts of Iwate and across Hokkaido and Aomori. No tsunami threat was reported from this event.
