The project, which includes plans to film in Israel, is intended to foster dialogue by including perspectives that disagree with her own. Blair revealed that the documentary is a response to the professional and personal consequences she faced following a controversial social media comment made in early 2024 regarding the Israel-Hamas war. She stated that she had “mistakenly and inadvertently conflated Muslims with radical Islamists,” but noted that her subsequent apology did not prevent significant fallout. According to Blair, the backlash resulted in the immediate loss of her talent agency, manager, lawyer, and publicists, as well as the termination of brand partnerships and a scheduled Super Bowl advertisement. The incident also impacted her personal life, including the loss of a close friendship. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-03: Selma Blair details career fallout from controversial social media comment Actress Selma Blair reported losing her career, professional team, and brand deals following a controversial 2024 social media comment regarding Islam. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/selma-blair-details-career-fallout-from-controversial-social-media-comment ### 2026-10-02: Selma Blair announces antisemitism documentary ‘Hineni’ Selma Blair announced a new documentary titled ‘Hineni’ about antisemitism, following the professional fallout from her controversial 2024 social media comments. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/selma-blair-announces-antisemitism-documentary-hineni --- Cite as: Selma Blair documentary announcement and career fallout.
