A 32-year-old Colombian national, identified as Richard M., was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Bydgoszcz District Court for the fatal stabbing of 41-year-old Grzegorz M. 

The incident occurred during the night of July 5–6, 2025, in the town of Nowe, following a brawl in the town square between a group of Polish citizens and a group of Colombian nationals employed at local meat processing plants. The court also ordered the defendant to pay 10,000 PLN in compensation to the victim's family. 

Following the stabbing, a police chase and vehicle collision occurred involving several individuals attempting to flee. While 13 suspects were initially detained, the court proceedings were held behind closed doors, and the specific reasons for the mitigation of the sentence were not disclosed.
