Mariano Corvalán, a former sergeant of the Entre Ríos Police, has been sentenced to ten years in prison for the attempted femicide of his former partner, Carolina Huck. The sentence was reached via an abbreviated trial in Gualeguaychú following an August 2025 incident where Corvalán shot Huck at their shared residence.

While Corvalán requested medical assistance for the victim and attempted to take his own life during the incident, Huck suffered severe, irreversible physical consequences and remains in rehabilitation.
