Singer Goca Lazarević has addressed challenges regarding her professional career, specifically noting that certain songs have been misinterpreted as nationalist. She stated that these interpretations have resulted in performance restrictions in Croatia and parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite her describing herself as a cosmopolitan artist.

Following these discussions, Lazarević celebrated her 50th anniversary in the music industry with a solo concert at Akademija 28 in Belgrade. The event included appearances by various regional folk music colleagues. During the celebration, she acknowledged the influence of her former husband, Milutin Popović Zahar, on her career and noted his inability to attend the concert due to illness.
