Sergio Busquets has initiated his transition into professional coaching by joining the technical staff of Barcelona Atlétic, the reserve team of FC Barcelona. Working under head coach Juliano Belletti, Busquets has been observing training sessions and matches to learn the professional process, specifically focusing on providing tactical suggestions for midfielders.

Following this initial phase, Busquets joined former teammates Gerard Piqué, Thiago Alcántara, Javi Martínez, and Santi Cazorla in a UEFA B-A coaching course organized by the Andorran Football Federation. This training program, which includes several in-person blocks scheduled through June 2027, serves as a pathway for these former players to acquire the technical licenses necessary for managing national-level youth teams or serving in assistant coaching roles.
