Como secured a 1-0 victory against Venezia during their Serie A match at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia on November 1, 2026. The fixture was marked by significant officiating decisions involving VAR.

In the 28th minute, referee Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi initially awarded a penalty to Venezia following a handball by Milla. However, after a VAR review, the decision was overturned because the contact was deemed non-punishable. Venezia manager Davide Nicola expressed dissatisfaction with the interpretation of the overturned penalty, stating, “For me, it was a penalty all my life.”

Later, in the 43rd minute, Venezia was awarded a penalty following a foul by Juan Jesus on Douvikas, which Da Cunha converted to give Como the lead.

This victory extends Como’s winning streak to five matches across all competitions. The win moves the club to 23 points, lifting them to fourth place in the league standings, just two points behind leaders Lazio and Inter. This result increases pressure on Napoli regarding the race for a top-four finish.

Prior to the match, Como manager Cesc Fabregas had noted the team entered the fixture in fifth place with 20 points, while also addressing the absence of Moise Kean due to injury sustained during international duty. Venezia remains at the bottom of the table with three points, having suffered two consecutive losses. Como now prepares for a Champions League fixture against Lens, while Venezia will host Udinese next.
