Sources: 67. Developments: 2. AS Roma secured their first victory of the 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League league phase with a 4-0 win over Slovan Bratislava at the Stadio Olimpico. This result brings Roma to four points in the standings, following their previous defeat to Real Madrid and a draw against Fenerbahce. Roma established dominance early, with Mario Hermoso scoring a header in the 21st minute following a Ghilardi cross and Nahuel Molina doubling the lead in the 39th minute after capitalizing on a rebound from a Takac save. In the second half, Niccolò Pisilli added a third in the 53rd minute, wearing the captain's armband for the first time following Lorenzo Pellegrini's injury, and Donyell Malen completed the rout with a penalty in the 58th minute. Roma controlled much of the match, maintaining 70% possession during the first half. Slovan Bratislava, led by Yaya Touré, remains without points in the competition following losses to Paris Saint-Germain and VfB Stuttgart. Touré noted that his team struggled with “passivity and errors” that allowed the Italian side to capitalize. Despite the commanding performance, Roma faces squad concerns as captain Lorenzo Pellegrini sustained a thigh injury, leaving the pitch in the 50th minute. This adds to the team’s existing injury challenges, which previously included the absence of Paulo Dybala due to a calf injury. The victory provides momentum ahead of Roma’s upcoming domestic fixture against Napoli, though the team will be without both Dybala and Pellegrini. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-19: AS Roma defeats Slovan Bratislava 4-0 in Champions League victory AS Roma secured a decisive 4-0 Champions League victory against Slovan Bratislava with goals from Hermoso, Molina, Pisilli, and Malen, marking their first win of the season. 63 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/inter-milan-leads-serie-a-standings-after-strong-start ### 2026-10-12: Inter and Lazio lead Serie A standings after six matches Inter and Lazio lead the Serie A standings with 16 points each after six matchdays, followed by Roma and Cagliari. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/inter-and-lazio-lead-serie-a-standings-after-six-matches --- Cite as: AS Roma victory in Champions League and injury concerns.
