Sevilla has expanded its Bus de Tránsito Rápido (BTR) line 1, known as the tranvibús, to connect Torreblanca and Sevilla Este to the city center at Plaza del Duque. The new 12.4-kilometer segregated corridor utilizes 16 zero-emission electric articulated buses and aims to reduce travel times to approximately 33–35 minutes. The expansion necessitated a reorganization of several Tussam municipal bus lines and the implementation of a camera-based license plate recognition system to restrict unauthorized private vehicles.

Following the launch, Mayor José Luis Sanz reported that the tranvibús saw over 102,000 users in its first week, becoming the third most used Tussam line. Amidst the rollout, the Mayor addressed controversy regarding the temporary authorization of tourist buses entering the historic district due to construction on Trajano Street. While Sanz noted the measure is a trial period, he emphasized that the tranvibús serves as a provisional solution until Metro Line 2 is implemented.
