Production for the upcoming action thriller ‘King’ moved to Mumbai for a musical sequence scheduled to begin on October 26. The shoot, featuring choreography by Vaibhavi Merchant, marks the sixth collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. This sequence also marks Deepika Padukone’s return to film sets following the birth of her second daughter in September 2026.

On November 2, the film released its first song, ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’, to coincide with Shah Rukh Khan’s 61st birthday. The track, composed by Sachin-Jigar with lyrics by Kumaar, features vocals from Arijit Singh, Ed Sheeran, and Madhubanti Bagchi. Ed Sheeran contributed an English rap, noting that the collaboration began after a meeting with Khan. The music video incorporates romantic dance alongside action elements such as car chases and gunfights.

On November 4, Ed Sheeran provided further details regarding his Bollywood debut. He revealed that the collaboration was sparked during a recent visit to India, where he visited Khan’s residence to request a cameo for his own song, ‘Sapphire’, which features Arijit Singh. During that meeting, Khan introduced Sheeran to the composer duo Sachin-Jigar. Sheeran reportedly wrote and recorded his verse for ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’ that same night. Khan expressed gratitude for the collaboration, specifically noting Sheeran’s performance of the Hindi lyrics.

Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
